This line of equipment has been developed by Continuus-Properzi for the production of battery grids (negative and positive). The equipment is mainly addressed to the battery manufactures. The production capacity ranges from 1,000 kg/h up to 10,000 kg/h.
Special Properzi lines produce zinc and zinc alloy rods for galvanizing purposes. For other special applications lead and lead alloy rods are cast and rolled by Properzi lines. Lead wire (coming very often from Properzi CCR lead rod) is used to produce calibrated lead shot by a special Properzi machine. In fact, this process was Ilario Properzi's first invention. Almost all precision lead shots in the world are produced by this technology including those used by Olympic champions and other world class athletes.
Pioneered since the Fifties, matured in the Seventies, the Properzi Continuous Casting and Rolling line for narrow and thin Strip (CRS) of Lead/Zinc/Aluminum is the only and best system on the market.This line can produce strip which finds application for beverage can openings, lead-sheathed cables, soundproofing shields, capsules, crown tops and roofing.
One successful application is the production of alloyed lead strip which has proven the best material for high quality grids for starter batteries due to the excellent mechanical properties when expanding, both of lead-calcium and lead-antimony.

The major battery manufacturers are using this equipment for trouble-free production of thin lead strips. This rolling system has been specially designed to safeguard the environment and reduce the pollution level far below the existing standard.
