New Properzi 120.000 t/y Copper Rod Plant in China
The Jangxi Rear Earth And Rare Metals Tungsten Group Corporation (JXTC), one of the major producers of non-ferrous metals in China has purchased the equipment and technology for the new Copper Rod Production facility of 120.000 tons per year. The system, first of its kind in China, will use the renown Properzi-La Farga Technology for the direct production Fire Refined High Conductivity (FRHC) copper conductor rod starting from low quality (92%-93% copper content) copper scrap and also 97% content.
The new plant located in Nanchang City area will be equipped with a 150 tons Properzi Refining Furnace of reverberatory type, as well as the COSMELT scrap melting system capable of producing 20 t/h of liquid metal on continuous 24 hours cycle basis for 97% scrap.
The rod will be produced on the latest model of Properzi Prime Rod 20 CCR continuous casting and rolling line. The overall production process is controlled by the modern computer based system allowing constant monitoring of operation parameters, product quality and process efficiency.
The supply includes the Know-How transfer and training for copper scrap refining according to the Properzi-La Farga Technology, as well as engineering and assistance for the design, construction and erection of the auxiliary systems and services, among which a specialized laboratory is particularly advanced.
The supplied system that started production in mid-2009, is designed and built in accordance to the Best Available Practice in environment protection. This fact gains additional significance in present period when Chinese Industry is making strong efforts to ensure environmental sustainability of the development.
